Pre-Christmas Celebrations

Polar Express Party: 12-4-09
We had our friends over to "kick off" the Christmas Season the first weekend in December. We watched Polar Express, ate dinner and sweet goodies, and then had fun talking as the kids played. If people keep having kids, though, we are going to have to start renting a place to get together! :) The favorite part was wearing pajamas... Even Uncle B participated!

Santa Train: 12-11-09
On Dec.12, we took Avery to ride the Santa Train at the Museum of Life and Science with Brian's parents, and his sister's family. Lilly went "caroling" at the nursing home with my parents since it was too cold for her to be outside that night! It was so so cold but a very cute idea and the kids really seemed to enjoy it. Avery kept announcing that we weren't at the REAL North Pole... too funny! Joke's on him, right?! Ha! My favorite part was that my neice, Anna, was "All about ME" for once and gave me more attention in those few hours than she has probably given me her whole 2 1/2 years of life! :)

Bahama Christmas Parade: 12-12-09
What's Christmas without a Redneck Parade?! Ha! We continued our tradition of spending time with family and friends eating breakfast at a family friends' house, before heading out in the c-c-cold to catch candy being thrown from antique cars, horseback riders, local heros, and kids' sports teams and dance schools. The funniest part this year was once Avery and his buddy (Brenden) realized that the more times they yelled, "Merry Christmas", the more candy they got. One time, the person didn't answer their greeting with candy and Brenden yelled back, "Well...Don't ya have any candy"?! Maybe you just had to be there, or know how cute Brenden is, but it was really funny! Oh, the minds of 4 year olds! Thanks again, to Mimi, for staying back in the house with Lilly to keep her warm.

Disney on Ice:12-13-09
Mimi and Papa took us to Disney on Ice, which was so awesome! We had never been before and Avery loved it almost as much as I did! Ha! I still think it is a sin to sell cotton candy for $12 just b/c it comes with a plastic hat, but that is when I'm even more appreciative that we had the grandparents along! Ha! The show was excellent and I was surprised that Avery noticed that Mickey did not have on yellow shoes like Minnie, but I didn't even realize that his shoes were supposed to be yellow. That kid doesn't miss a beat! I look forward to going back when Lilly is old enough to enjoy it more... all she did was sqirm in our laps until she finally fell asleep in mom's arms!
